| Event Details: | The goal of the VAL IT framework, which includes research, publications and supporting services, is to help management address the lack of IT investment and management guidelines and to ensure that organizations realize optimal value from IT-enabled business investments, at an affordable cost, with a known and acceptable level of risk. Robert Stroud, International President of ISACA, will discuss the practical application of VAL IT with two use cases and the challenges the organizations faced in this half day presentation.
International Vice President Robert E. Stroud, CGEIT, is vice president of IT service management and governance for the service management business unit at CA Inc., where he helps to ensure that the company’s solutions adhere to best practices in service management and governance. He joined CA from the Australian computer security company Cybec, where he held several management positions and was responsible for the company’s successful global expansion, culminating in its successful entry into the North American market. Earlier, he spent 15 years in the banking industry where he held several positions within the IT and retail banking sectors. A 25-year IT veteran, Stroud is a recognized industry speaker and leader. He has been actively involved in ISACA and ITGI as a member of the COBIT Steering Committee and a frequent speaker on COBIT and Val IT, and is currently a member of ISACA’s Framework Committee. He also serves on the itSMF International Board of Directors and was a member of the ITIL Version 3 Advisory Group. He has written numerous publications on IT industry standards and best practices, and has served as a reviewer for ITIL and COBIT mapping documents.
