Event Details:Dr. Susan Hinrichs earned a PhD from Carnegie Mellon University in 1995 studying communication optimization techniques for parallel systems. After graduation, she joined Global Internet Software Group and was one of the architects of Centri Firewall. At Cisco systems until 2005, she led efforts in policy-based security management with the Cisco Security Policy Manager and Firewall Management Center. Now Susan lectures on computer security at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign and designs and develops network security analysis algorithms for Network Geographics. Susan has also worked with multilevel operating systems ranging from development work on a multilevel Linux system in the late 1980's and a Windows NT feasibility study in the mid 1990's to more recent work on policy analysis of SE Linux type enforcement systems. She is a Certified Information System Auditor (CISA).
