| Event Details: | Network security testing should be integrated into an organization’s security architecture. The goal of testing network security is to evaluate system security mechanisms and validate that the systems are operating according to established enterprise policies and standards. To maximize the usefulness of these measures and ensure that they are affordable, the organization must find a method to prioritize network-testing activities according to established criteria. This session will examine criteria elements including criticality, testing costs and results benefits. This session will utilize a lab environment to provide students access to various systems and devices. Students will learn about security testing methodologies, what tools are available, and how to select the right tool for a security test.
About the instructor
Justin Peltier is a Senior Security Consultant with Peltier Associates, with over ten years of experience in firewall and security technologies. As a consultant, Justin has been involved in implementing, supporting, and developing security solutions, and has taught courses on many facets of information security, including vulnerability assessment and CISSP preparation. His previous employment was at Suntel Services, where he directed their security practice development. Prior to that, Justin was with Netigy, where he was involved in their corporate training efforts. Justin currently holds 10 professional certifications in an array of technical disciplines.
